May 10,2020: A Life Worth Living

Happy Mother’s Day!

What makes life worth living?

Point to Ponder

What makes life worth living?

Is it wealth, popularity or influence?

Is it found in a life of ease, pleasure or entertainment?

Is the goal of life intended to be pleasure or purpose?

11 1-2 The fundamental fact of existence is that this trust in God, this faith, is the firm foundation under everything that makes life worth living. It’s our handle on what we can’t see. The act of faith is what distinguished our ancestors, set them above the crowd. Hebrews 11:1-6 (MSG)

Quick Connect: What makes life worth living?

It is our faith (Hope) in Christ that makes life worth living. Living out of our faith develops the charter of God in our lives.

Transition: May I invite you to turn with me to Proverbs 31: 10-31. It is a rather familiar passage of scripture, especially on Mother’s Day for it defines for us.” a wife of noble charter.” But I say regardless of gender, our passage describes for us a life worth living.

Connecting with the Word Proverbs 31: 10 -31

Point to Ponder: We miss the point if we concentrate on the “What” as opposed to the “Who”. For it’s not the “WHAT” she does that makes her special but the “WHO” she is.

The outflow of a person’s heart defines who they are.

With the tongue we praise our Lord and Father, and with it we curse human beings, who have been made in God’s likeness. 10 Out of the same mouth come praise and cursing. My brothers and sisters, this should not be. 11 Can both fresh water and salt water flow from the same spring? 12 My brothers and sisters, can a fig tree bear olives, or a grapevine bear figs? Neither can a salt spring produce fresh water. James 3: 9 -12
